Overview
Sudan’s VNR report provides comprehensive evidence for its claims through statistics, graphs, and figures. However, most is based on old figures and predictions as the report highlights significant challenges in data collection, suggesting that the data may be limited and not fully representative of the entire country. Sudan’s diversity, with hundreds of tribes, presents inclusivity issues, resulting in imbalanced and exclusive socio-economic growth. Regions such as Khartoum and Northern Sudan are performing better than Eastern, Southern, and Western regions like Kordofan and Darfur, due to political instability and conflicts. Consequently, data from these under-resourced regions is limited, particularly regarding disaggregated groups who are left behind (page 16). These issues are likely to hinder Sudan's progress in achieving the Agenda 2030 and meeting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
